Plans are an extremely delicate thing. Often printed in ink when in reality, they are lived in a scribble of pencil. This summer, my at first simple plan of a week away has come together like patchwork with a series of other ideas. Scouting, sailing, adventure, and more. Piece by piece, my puzzle began to feel more full.
To the untrained eye, it might be easy to think that I've lost my path but in reality, that is the furthest thing from the truth that I can imagine. These experiences are what are making me understand what I desire; no, what I need most. And now I get to share them with you.
I leave Canada today as a solo traveller. Just me, my backpack, and a dream to capture the world for what it is. But as I land in Denmark, that solitude will disapate. The road ahead will be filled with unforgetable landscapes and even more memreable faces. Those that I already know and those that I have yet to meet. The series of patches making up this story will only get more sophisticated as time goes on and you are going to get to experience it all.
Today isn't a long one but it serves as the opener for what is to come. Here's to letting life take you on detours every once and a while. I'm looking forward to taking you along.
